The Bourn Creative Blog<\/a> is a great source of information for me in my business. I enjoy their articles and posts, and this week I came across one that I thought would be great to share with you.<\/p>\n

8 Marketing Tips to Help You Get More Clients.<\/a><\/p>\n

I have many of my own tips, but I really liked this article and figured instead of reinventing the wheel, I would paraphrase\u00a0their tips here with my comments.<\/p>\n

You know, sort of a like a ‘I could not have said it better myself’, type of thing.<\/p>\n

Here we go:<\/p>\n

1. Talk to 3 prospects every day<\/strong> – The more people you reach out to regularly, the more your business will grow. If you target 3 per day, it forms a great habit too – by fitting it in every day you will always be moving forward.<\/p>\n

2. Get out from behind your computer – <\/strong>Virtual is the way we work but it doesn’t have to be the way we conduct all of our business. I have found more success in connecting with people in person – because I say the words out loud and I see their reaction. It’s easier\u00a0to tweak your marketing message in a live setting!<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0Join in on your social networks –<\/strong> If you belong to a number of social networks but you never reach out to anyone, you should not even be there. Introduce yourself, and be active in any group you decide to network in. People will notice you when they see your name more often.<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0Follow up –<\/strong> Meeting people online or in person is great, but unless you keep your name in front of them you will probably never do business with them. Make a goal for follow up with everyone you meet, and then do it. It often takes work, multiple ‘touches’ or connections, before you can get a client to have a sales conversation with you.<\/p>\n

5. Stand out from the rest of the crowd –<\/strong> Everyone is out there doing the same thing. Be different, offer something very appealing and valuable as a freebie, so that people will want to connect with you. Inviting them to get your newsletter will not work – you need to solve an immediate problem they are having.<\/p>\n

6.\u00a0Tell people the solution you have for them – <\/strong>Clients want to know two things: what you can do for them and how much it will cost them. Speaking in solutions is the best way to get them to hear that. What is driving them crazy? How can you fix it? They want to know.<\/p>\n

7. Be succinct –<\/strong> Rambling on about why someone needs to work with a VA is not going to build you a thriving business. Keep your messages short, succinct and relevant to the person you are speaking with. When they hear the basics of what you can do – and they need it – the conversation will move in the right direction much sooner.<\/p>\n

8.\u00a0Ask for referrals –<\/strong> No matter who your audience is, there are people in it that will be your clients, and there are others who can send you referrals. Make sure that your audience is very clear about what you do and who you do it for, so you can make sure the referrals they send you are a good fit!<\/p>\n

Isn’t\u00a0that a great list?<\/em> The nuts and bolts of marketing are pretty simple. That’s why you often see the same information in many different places.<\/p>\n

Getting clients is about effective marketing.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Effective marketing is smarter marketing. It doesn’t have to take a lot of time when you do\u00a0it correctly.<\/p>\n

Take one or two (or all!) of the tips above and implement them into your business. You’ll notice the difference in your success very quickly!<\/p>\n
