How does it make you feel when somebody says you should be creating content daily on your VA social media channels? Does that hair on the back of your neck stand up?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Many Virtual Assistants get paralyzed by the idea of creating content \u2013 writing blogs, doing videos, putting out social media. Why is this?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Because they don\u2019t know what to write about. Or maybe because they don\u2019t have a content plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When you don\u2019t really have a plan to do something, it can fail miserably. <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

It can also take 10x as long to do it \u2013 which means you could be wasting valuable time every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you are sitting down every morning trying to figure out what to post or write, then that\u2019s your first problem.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Begin by figuring out what it is that your audience wants to see, and you will be able to then create content that appeals to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What kinds of tasks do you do for your clients? How do you talk to them about those things when in conversation? That should be the way you talk about them in your content \u2013 these are the topics your online content should be about.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Still not feeling it? Here\u2019s an example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For instance, if you do general admin tasks, then you might do things like calendar management. So maybe you could create content around scheduling habits or tips, scheduling software, managing your time, getting more clients, networking event follow up, and more. There are so many topics that can come from a task like calendar management. Think about yours, and start to come up with ideas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here are 5 ways you can create content much more easily than you probably are now:<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

1. Teach People How to Do Something<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

One way to create content is to teach people about something you know. This means to share your expertise with them about how to do it well, or why it\u2019s important. Teaching people something is very common, and easy when you realize that you have expertise that others do not have. You can do this by writing a \u2018how to\u2019 blog post or doing a video. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. Share Things of Interest<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Share your opinion about how people do things. Share client stories or personal stories about why what you do is important, and how it helps your clients. Sharing is a great way to show people your passion around what you do and why they should want to work with you. You can also share other people\u2019s content (only do this sometimes), so that your audience can see that you are keeping an eye on the trends in their industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. Do a Review or Demo to Show Your Expertise<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Review a piece of software that you are using to do your work, or that you have used before. This type of content is very valuable to your audience because they often are looking for advice around what is best in the online world \u2013 and many of them are nervous about being online to begin with. Do a quick review or demo of something that shows how you use it. This also shows your audience your work style, which can be a big deciding factor in working with a VA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. Use Themes to Help You Plan Content<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Perhaps to help you get creative, you will choose themes to write about, or do video about. Be careful not to make your social media channels look the same all the time, though. Themes are important from a behind the scenes perspective (so that you can keep track of what you want to write about), but try to stay away from Motivation Monday and that kind of thing \u2013 it gets stale fast. But maybe you decide to choose 4 general themes you want to write blog posts about each month, and then you can rotate your content around those, and it will not be apparent to most of your audience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. Your VA Business Branding <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Showcasing your brand is very important with content. You want people to recognize the content you put out there, so make sure that you put your logo on it, use your brand colours and fonts. Become recognizable in everyone\u2019s newsfeed. This refers to your images, but also your writing style. Create image and writing templates to make your writing or image creation easier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course any of these ideas can be used with writing, video, audio, images, and anything that you put out there. Be sure to create content using a medium that you feel comfortable with. The more comfortable you are with it, the more you will commit to doing it. If you can do video, do it. (You will do it eventually!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Getting past the \u2018what\u2019 to post is challenging, but once you see the possibilities before you, and put a plan in place (what to post, and where, and how often), you will actually begin to enjoy creating content \u2013 and your audience will take notice!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
