Why? Because more connections = more clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-neve-link-color-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">But did you know that what you are saying when you are not actively networking can make or break your client list?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Clients who are looking for a VA may find you before you know it. And what you are saying can have a big impact on whether they will want to work with you or not.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Have a look at what you are putting out there \u2013 start with your social media profiles, but think about the conversations you have when attending networking events too. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1200\" height=\"628\" src=\"https:\/\/www.yourvamentor.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/YVAM-Watch-What-You-Say.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2809\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.yourvamentor.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/YVAM-Watch-What-You-Say.png 1200w, https:\/\/www.yourvamentor.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/YVAM-Watch-What-You-Say-300x157.png 300w, https:\/\/www.yourvamentor.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/YVAM-Watch-What-You-Say-768x402.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Are you putting out the right message anywhere you are connecting with people?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To make sure your message is on point, check for the following things:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-neve-link-color-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">1. Are you being salesy?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are networking in social media groups, what are you posting every day that people will see? Are you constantly posting about your service offerings or telling people they should book a consult with you? That can be a turnoff to someone who is on the fence about hiring a VA. Coming off as salesy is not the way to invite people to learn more about how you can help them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-neve-link-color-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">2. Are you being helpful?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Instead, try to offer your help and support wherever possible. Don\u2019t talk about the reason it\u2019s great to hire a VA \u2013 talk about why it\u2019s great to get help with a specific problem. This is what speaks to clients in a much more service-based approach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-neve-link-color-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">3. Are you being negative?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are struggling in your business, or if you are dealing with a difficult client, are you posting it out there as doom and gloom? Clients can see these posts too. You should find a support group that is not public that you can use to work through your own business issues. Sharing your struggles is fine as long as you are not being overly negative. It\u2019s a turn off, and it could cost you clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-neve-link-color-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">4. Are you being positive?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>People love others that are a ray of sunshine. If you are having a good day, or helped a client with something that made their day, share those things. Clients want to know that you are helping others, and in turn could help them. Positivity is the way to go in business \u2013 and when you practice positivity daily, it rubs off on others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-neve-link-color-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">5. Are you focused on you?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you talk only about how great it is to be VA, your clients (who are not VAs, and have no intention of being VAs), will gloss right over your message. In any marketing content, you must focus on the clients and the problems they are having so that they will notice you. Knowing who your target market is helps you direct your messaging to them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-neve-link-color-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">6. Are you focused on them?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Check out your latest social media posts or blog posts. If you are giving advice, resources, and talking about issues that are important to your clients and their businesses, you get a gold star! Focus your content on your clients instead of on yourself and you will get more reaction from people who could potentially use your services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-neve-link-color-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">Bonus question: Are you consistently \u2018out there\u2019 networking?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The best way to find clients is to connect with others. If you are not doing that consistently \u2013 whether by networking, or outreach, or creating content to invite interactions with potential clients \u2013 then you will struggle to find clients.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"has-neve-link-color-color has-text-color wp-block-heading\">The more you connect with people in a meaningful way, the more clients you will get.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Getting clients relies largely on what it is that people hear from you. So make sure that you are providing consistent, positive, helpful advice and outreach to people in your travels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It takes some practice, but like anything in business that is important, it is worth it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I challenge you to go back over your last 10 or 12 interactions with people online to see what you are saying. And look at your last two weeks of social media posts. Are you connecting with someone specific with your messaging?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If not, it\u2019s time to fix that. Take some time to get a routine in place and watch what you say.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you are saying what your client wants to hear, they will be much more receptive to it \u2013 and you\u2019ll get more clients!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Your messaging is an essential part of your success as a VA.
