Being a Virtual Assistant is a great way to be your own boss and to be in charge of your own schedule \u2013 right? Sure, but there is a lot more to it. <\/h3>\n\n\n\n

When you start a VA business, you are not just offering services to clients in exchange for payment, you are becoming a business owner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you want to be in business for any length of time, you need to start thinking of yourself as a business owner right now.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I often ask VAs like you why they want to run their own VA business \u2013 and most of the time your reasons are very personal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u2022 You want to be more available for your family
\n\u2022 You want to set your own schedule
\n\u2022 You want to work from home
\n\u2022 You want to be in control of how much you earn
\n\u2022 You want to be able to pick and choose who you work with
\n\u2022 And so on<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These are GREAT reasons to want to be your own boss.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the really important thing to remember is that you need to run a GREAT business in order to be able to do any of these things.<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I totally understand putting family first \u2013 trust me! \u2013 I have been working from home since I was 7 months pregnant with my son, who is now 22. I have put him and my husband first for 22 years. But hear me out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In order to be able to bring in enough revenue to support the new lifestyle you want, you have to get your business foundations in place, and you need to get a good, solid base of fabulous clients. And that takes planning and hard work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
