I’m writing this as I am away at my mastermind retreat with some Virtual Assistant colleagues.<\/p>\n

Each year we take a few days and travel to a cottage to brainstorm, work on our businesses, and to relax from the busy-ness of our businesses.<\/p>\n

One of the things we do before we get to our retreat is we plan what we want to get done while we are there.<\/p>\n

We all do marketing and networking and business building on a regular basis, but the retreat allows us to look at the big picture … I find that’s something we don’t always take the time to do.<\/p>\n

When we can turn off the noises around us and just reflect on where we are, the view of the big picture can become much larger.<\/p>\n

Where am I? Do I want to be here?<\/p>\n

Where do I want to go? How can I get there?<\/p>\n

How does everything I do fit into that?<\/p>\n

Do I need to get help to do it? Where can I find that?<\/p>\n

Who can help me get to where I want to go quickly?<\/p>\n

Is there anything I am doing now that I don’t want to be doing? How can I transition out of that?<\/p>\n

These are the questions I ask myself when I reflect on my business strategy and my goals.<\/p>\n

It’s not always about the busy time. It’s not always about doing the work.<\/p>\n

Sometimes it’s actually about stopping doing everything, just to really think.<\/p>\n

I encourage you to take some time to just sit and get clear about what it is you want, and how you can get there.<\/p>\n
