The Simplest Way to Market Your VA Services

Episode Notes:

Today, I want to talk about something I see so many VAs struggle with: marketing.

More specifically, why so many VAs feel stuck or frustrated when trying to get great clients, and how the solution often isn’t working harder, it’s working consistently in small, daily ways.

You guys know I tell you this all the time. Small daily actions will help you make progress in any area than booking in huge amounts of time less often.

Marketing isn’t about the one big launch, the perfect social post, or chasing clients. It’s about showing up every single day in ways that attract the clients you want and deserve. And today, I’m going to break down why that’s true, what it looks like in practice, and how you can start implementing daily marketing actions without feeling overwhelmed.

Consistency Beats Intensity (Better, Not More)

So let’s start with a common issue: VA owners think marketing means doing a huge push once a month or trying to “go viral” with a perfect post. Maybe you’ve felt this to. Posting one day and then going silent for weeks, thinking clients should just magically show up.

Great clients notice consistency. They notice when you show up regularly, share valuable content, engage in meaningful ways, and maintain a professional presence.

Think of it like watering a plant. If you dump a gallon of water on it once a month, it won’t survive. But if you water it a little every day, it thrives. That’s exactly how marketing works. Small, consistent actions compound over time to create visibility, trust, and authority.

I have done great marketing and I have done firehouse marketing. I have done well planned things and not so well planned things. I know what I’m talking about here! 🙂

When I find the time to shoe up every day, things are more manageable of course, but they also keep my attention on the goal. And my clients see me authentically more often, which is the whole point of marketing.

The key takeaway here is this: marketing isn’t about perfection, it’s about showing up. Daily actions keep you visible, build momentum, and make it easy for great clients to find you.

What Counts As Daily Marketing?

Now, when I say “daily marketing,” I’m not saying you need to spend hours each day on social media or cold emails. Daily marketing is about small, intentional actions that move the needle consistently.

It doesn’t even mean posting content daily. I
Marketing is much more than posting.

Here’s what I mean:

  • Social media engagement: commenting, connecting, or posting insights for 10–15 minutes.
  • Email marketing: sending a short tip, resource, or update to your list each day or a few times a week.
  • Client outreach: reaching out to past clients, potential leads, or referral partners regularly.
  • Content creation: jotting down ideas for posts, blogs, or emails, even if you don’t post them immediately.

The magic is in the compound effect. One comment on a post may not bring a client today, but 10–15 comments a week? That starts to create relationships. One email to your list may go unnoticed, but over time, your audience begins to see you as an expert they can trust.

When you develop good habits like these that focus on more than just posting to social media, it becomes a natural part of your personality, your business, and your reputation.

Take this podcast. I show up every week with a new episode for you. It took some time, but now every single consult I get, the VA tells me they listen to my podcast. Every single one.

That’s the point. Be visible, have conversations, and you will get clients.

Daily actions are also flexible. Some days, your action might be tiny, just a quick comment, a DM, or brainstorming content ideas.

Some days, you might do a bigger action. But as long as something is happening every single day, you are building momentum.

You are keeping your business and your goals top of mind, and you are helping g move yourself forward, even just one step.

The Psychological Impact (Changing Your Mindset)

Another reason daily marketing works? It changes your mindset.

When you consistently take action, you start to feel in control of your business. You stop waiting for clients to “appear” and start creating your own opportunities. Small wins each day, like an engaging comment, a helpful email, or a quick post, build your confidence. That confidence shows in your messaging and your client conversations.

Clients can sense confidence. When you’re consistently showing up and sharing value, great clients are naturally drawn to you. You’re no longer chasing them; they’re seeking you out because you demonstrate expertise and reliability.

Your clients have to see you to remember you.

I recently was looking for help with a special project and I had previously noticed someone who I knew could help. But I had not made contact with them back then, before Inwas reasy to donthe project. I just assumed they would always be showing up in my feed.

I had to go searching for them. I couldn’t remember their name, so I spent far too much time researching what my old search terms were.

That person was gone. No longer easy for me to find. So I had to go with the next person I found in my googling.

But if that other person had continued posting they would have been there for me to remember when I actually needed help.

Show up. Look for interaction with your audience, and make that connection. When they are ready, they will find you easily.

Daily marketing also reduces overwhelm. Instead of trying to do everything at once, you break it down into manageable steps. This makes marketing feel doable, sustainable, and even enjoyable.

Like I said, it will become a small part of your daily routine.

Building The Habit (Do It Daily)

So how do you actually make daily marketing a habit?

Step 1: Pick 3 core actions that you can commit to each day. Keep them small and manageable. For example, commenting on 3 social media posts, sending 1 outreach email, and writing 1 social media post idea. 15 minutes max

Step 2: Schedule it. Don’t leave it to chance. Put it in your calendar or use a reminder app. Consistency comes from structure. Hold that time in your calendar to do what you say you want to do.

Step 3: Track your progress. Even a simple checklist helps. When you see the streak of days you’ve completed your actions, it reinforces your habit and motivation. Who doesn’t love checking things off a checklist? Thank you Trello!!

Step 4: Be patient and persistent. Daily marketing doesn’t produce instant results. But after a few weeks, you’ll notice more engagement, more leads, and ultimately, more clients.

Every morning I scan my FB groups and my DMs and Threads for conversations. It doesn’t take any time at all and it’s a great way to start your day, provided that you STOP after your allotted time.

The most important part? Start small and stay consistent. It’s not about doing everything perfectly; it’s about showing up, every single day.

The VAs that I coach notice a huge difference in how they show up for their marketing tasks when we break them down into bite sized pieces. Most VAs I know do the old Sunday night or after hours stuff for their own business, and it very often gets skipped for family time.

I work with to fit 15 minutes a day into their workday and it all gets done during business hours!

The types of results you’ll see

When you commit to daily marketing, here’s what starts to happen:

  • You attract better clients – clients who align with your values and pay your rates.
  • You increase your visibility – more people see your expertise, which builds trust and credibility.
  • You build momentum – marketing no longer feels like a chore; it becomes part of your routine.
  • You gain confidence – taking consistent action reinforces your skills and authority in your niche.

Over time, these small actions create a ripple effect. One email leads to a conversation, one conversation leads to a proposal, and one proposal leads to a client. Multiply that over weeks and months, and suddenly, you’re working with clients who respect your time, value your expertise, and pay your rates without hesitation.

Overcoming Common Excuses

Now, I know what you’re thinking: “I don’t have time,” “I’m not good at marketing,” or “I don’t know what to post.” These are the most common excuses I hear from VAs.

Here’s how I tackle them:

  1. I don’t have time – Daily marketing doesn’t have to take hours. Even 15–20 minutes a day compounds massively over time.
  2. I’m not good at marketing – You don’t need to be perfect. Your voice, your experience, and your personality are enough. Consistency is more important than perfection.
  3. I don’t know what to post – Start with what you know. Share tips, lessons learned, or client wins. Even sharing your journey as a VA counts as marketing.
  4. I’m scared of rejection – Consistent action builds confidence, and confidence attracts clients. The more you show up, the easier it gets to handle “no” or lack of response.

Daily marketing is about progress, not perfection. It’s about building momentum, visibility, and relationships that eventually lead to high-quality clients. Every single day.

I used to think I had to save my marketing tasks for after hours and guess what? Mine never got done either. I see you. I was you.

Book in 15 minutes every day and I prise you will wonder why you never thought of doing it that way yourself. You’re welcome.

If you need help figuring out what to do, I have good news.

How To Start Today

If you’re ready to take daily marketing seriously, here’s a simple plan to start today:

  1. Pick 3 small marketing actions you can do every day.
  2. Schedule them in your calendar at a time you’ll actually do them.
  3. Track your progress with a simple checklist.
  4. Celebrate small wins.

Remember, consistency beats intensity. Showing up regularly, even with tiny actions, is what creates trust, builds relationships, and attracts the clients you want.
