4 Simple Ways to Grow Your List

Hopefully by now you have an email list set up.

It doesn’t matter what stage of your business you are in, it is essential to start
building an audience of prospective clients that you can start to make that
connection with.

I remember it was so exciting watching my list grow by a few people at a time – I’d get excited every time a new sign up notification would show up in my email box!

Growing your list is not a difficult thing to do, if you concentrate on doing a few simple
things:

1. Freebie: we often talk about providing something for your prospect, that they will receive for giving you their email. There a many different types of freebies you can offer: an audio, a video, a podcast, a report, an ebook, an ecourse, etc. The better your offer, the more people will want to sign up for your list. Make it good!

2. Articles: Writing a weekly newsletter is not too difficult (once you get started) but then you want to take those articles and publish them to the article banks so you can start to generate more traffic back to your website. Articles are well-indexed by search engines, which means that with regular submissions, you can improve your search listings easily. Be sure to put a call to action on the bottom of each of your article submissions
– a link to your freebie, and that will attract people to sign up for your list
as well.

3. Email signature: Your email signature should always contain a link to your freebie or email list opt in. It always surprises me when I receive an email that doesn’t have a link to someone’s website or opt in page. You never know who is going to see your email somewhere (many people have terrible email etiquette, and in this instance, that isn’t a bad thing!). If you have an opt in link in your email signature, you will expose your site to
many more people than you think … also think about how many emails you send
in a day. J

4. Social Media: Be sure to use your social media channels to promote your list. The idea is to get in front of as many people as you can. If people are not aware that you have a list where they can connect with you, you may never see them subscribe. You want to build a relationship with them, and the way to do that is by regular contact.

These are just 4 simple ways that really don’t take much of your time, that will help you to generate more visits to your website, and potentially more signups for your list. The whole idea of ‘if you build it, they will come’ just doesn’t apply with your mailing list. Entice them with something really great, and then promote it when and where you can. You will see better results faster!
