8 Marketing Tips to Help You Get More VA Clients

The Bourn Creative Blog is a great source of information for me in my business. I enjoy their articles and posts, and this week I came across one that I thought would be great to share with you. 8 Marketing Tips to Help You Get More Clients. I have many of my own tips, but I really liked this article and figured instead of reinventing the wheel, I would paraphrase their tips here with my comments. You know, sort of a like a ‘I could not have said it better myself’, type of thing. Here we go: 1. Talk to 3 prospects every day – The more people you reach out to regularly, the more your business will grow. If you… Read More »8 Marketing Tips to Help You Get More VA Clients

Clarify Your Message, Get More VA Clients

Last fall I sponsored a speaker training event. There were about 80 business owners in the room as the audience, and there were 10 speakers on the stage throughout the day. The speakers each presented a talk and then were coached by the event host to improve their talk. The audience would then vote for the speakers to win various awards. Great premise for an event, so I decided it would be good to sponsor. And it was not terribly expensive to book a table there, and I knew I would meet lots of local people. I hadn’t sponsored an event before so I didn’t have a lot of marketing materials or banners or anything like that. I prepared my… Read More »Clarify Your Message, Get More VA Clients

No clients for your virtual assistant business yet? What are you trying to sell?

“The really unhappy person is the one who leaves undone what they can do, and starts doing what they don’t understand; no wonder they come to grief.” – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe I recently came across the quote and I was immediately struck by it. One of the big problems I see with Virtual Assistants who are either just starting out, or who are trying in vain to grow their business, is exactly the essence of this quotation. They try to build their business doing something new or something that they have not gained expertise with. I have had many conversations with people who are starting their VA business, and they don’t realize how much value they have in the… Read More »No clients for your virtual assistant business yet? Are You Making These Marketing Mistakes?

Marketing is an important piece of growing your VA business.  So when the effort you put into it doesn’t give you the returns you are looking for, it can be frustrating. Maybe the timing is wrong, maybe your strategy is wrong, or maybe it’s something else all together. Are you making these mistakes with your marketing? ‘All or Nothing’ Marketing Do you market your VA business consistently, or do you pop in and pop out when you ‘need clients’ or ‘have time’? Although it can sometimes be difficult to schedule time to market our own business, it’s essential to keep a presence out there at all times. What if the perfect client is looking for you, and they can’t find… Read More »Are You Making These Marketing Mistakes?

What’s Your Marketing Strategy?

When you look at how you are marketing your business, what do you see? Is there rhyme and reason to it, or do you just ‘fly by the seat of your pants’? If that sounds like you, don’t worry – you are definitely not alone. Many VAs I talk to don’t really have a plan in place to market their business. But if you don’t plan, it’s a bit like throwing spaghetti at a wall – you put it all out there and just hope something sticks. It’s not a really effective plan. Marketing strategy isn’t difficult – it just takes sitting down and thinking about what you want to do, why you want to do it, and what results… Read More »What’s Your Marketing Strategy?

Is Your Website All About You?

Last week I attended a great webinar by Matthew Goldfarb of Corporate Renegade Copy that talked about website copywriting. The topic of the call was Website Snoozing, and the gist of the message was that you have to wake up your web copy in order to get your prospects to notice you. (so true!) It was a great presentation and I thought it was a good subject for an article. Many virtual professionals I come into contact with have some form of website set up – whether it’s their first, simple website, or a complex more detailed one. It’s important to realize that your website will probably always be a work in progress. In my travels as a VA mentor,… Read More »Is Your Website All About You?

One Woman’s Trash …

As you may know, I recently sent out a survey to my VA connections to see what they were interested in learning about this year, to improve their business marketing. I offered each respondent their choice of one of three free gifts in response for filling out my survey. I figured it was the least I could do if someone took a few moments to provide with the information I need to build great programs in my business. The response was great – in just a few days I had over 70 responses, which gave me a lot of information that will help with me with my planning. I was very pleased with the results. (If you want to see… Read More »One Woman’s Trash …

Chocolate, Cinnamon – and What They Have to Do with Repurposing Your Content

I was recently talking with a client about repackaging and repurposing content. I had suggested that it would be a good idea to take an audio from a teleclass and repackage it into several other pieces that the client could use in her marketing. She didn’t understand why I would suggest doing that – the audio itself was content so why didn’t we we just blast the link out for everywhere so people could opt in to it and therefore get the material – no extra work required. It’s important to realize that people take in their information in all different kinds of ways. In order to reach them you need to find the way that speaks directly to them.… Read More »Chocolate, Cinnamon – and What They Have to Do with Repurposing Your Content
