What is your biggest struggle with your VA business?

How’s it going in your VA business? Are you happy? Fulfilled? Excited to get to work every day? Okay maybe that last one might be a stretch every day (!) but if your business is not exciting for you – and if you aren’t generally happy to do what you do, it’s time to step back and take a quick assessment. What is your biggest struggle with your VA business? It’s always a matter of not enough of one thing and too much of another. Many of these problems have very simple solutions.… Read More »What is your biggest struggle with your VA business?

Are You Just Wasting Your Time?

Do you ever look up at the end of a day and wonder where the time went? Losing time is very common for Virtual Assistants – and anyone who works on their own, or from their home. With no one around but us, it can be easy to start a task and not really keep track of where the time has gone. I’m not really talking about client work – if you aren’t keeping track of that, that’s bad! I’m talking about when you are not working on client work. Maybe you are on social media, maybe you are writing blog posts or creating content. Many VAs I know do not set blocks of time to get these types of… Read More »Are You Just Wasting Your Time?

Do This 3 Times a Day and Watch Your Productivity Soar

Do you get to the end of every day and still have a long list of things to do?  Or worse, do you work later than you planned too often because you still have so much to do at the end of your day? Have you ever considered why that happens? We often blame it on our task lists being too long to start with … but it’s probably not that at all. When you regularly run out of time before your daily tasks are completed, first check how much you are putting on your to-do list. Manage your schedule instead… Read More »Do This 3 Times a Day and Watch Your Productivity Soar

What’s Your Morning Routine as a VA?

Do you have a morning routine? The conversation I started was about your business routine, but certainly a lot of people talked about getting up early to work out, or walk pets, or read before getting started on work. I don’t have a real morning routine per se, but I do make a point of doing one thing: I do a whole hour of business work before I ever check email and voicemail. Every single morning.  I learned a long time ago that getting up and… Read More »What’s Your Morning Routine as a VA?

Favourite Tools for VAs: Timetrade

Timetrade is an online scheduling system that I have been using for many years. It’s a simple way for your clients (or anyone!) to book an appointment with you, without the back and forth emails that usually take place trying to find a time that suits both parties. Timetrade allows you to set up available appointments in your calendar, and it syncs with Google Calendar so you can block times easily if you have other appointments. I love the ability to enter recurring availability too, so I am not constantly updating my calendar. My time is valuable, and so is that of the people I do business with. Timetrade is a tool that I can’t do without in my business. And for… Read More »Favourite Tools for VAs: Timetrade
