I am always on the lookout for new tools to help me stay connected with my audience.
I use Google Reader, SocialOomph, HootSuite, TweetDeck and several other tools to help me keep myself up to date on who is sharing what, and also to find new and interesting things to share with you.
You have probably heard of most of those, and maybe even use one or two of them. But I recently found another one that I thought would be good to share – because I don’t see a lot of people in my network using it right at this time.
It’s called Timely by DemandForce – you can find them at www.timely.is and I absolutely LOVE it.
It’s a little app that you subscribe to, and it basically allows you to share whatever you are looking at right at the moment, into your social media streams.
Here’s how it works: you set up your free account, and you connect one or more of your social media profiles to it. Then you drag the timely link to your bookmark bar on your computer (just like Pinterest). When you are reading something that you want to share, you simply click ‘Create a Timely’ and then you select which social media profile to share it on.
The second really neat thing about it is that you can share that item immediately, or you can ‘queue’ it for later – and what Timely will do is scan your post regularity and schedule this item to go out at the same frequency that you usually post at (so if you post every few hours, it will actually time your Timely post to go out on that same time schedule.)
It’s really neat. And super simple.
So each morning when I am catching up on my subscribed blogs and my social media, I can grab anything that I want to share and know that I don’t have to have everything post at once, and I don’t have to think about when to schedule it – I just click ‘Create a Timely’ and I know it will be broadcast at a regular interval. It couldn’t be easier, and I find I can share so many more interesting things with my audience. And it helps me stay … well, timely! 🙂
So, are you timely? If not, check it out – I think you’ll like it!
